What is Community Health Assist Scheme (CHAS)?

The Community Health Assist Scheme (CHAS) enables all Singapore Citizens, including Pioneer Generation (PG) and Merdeka Generation (MG) cardholders, to receive subsidies for medical care at participating General Practitioner (GP) near their homes.

Eligibility and types of Scheme for CHAS

With the enhancement effective from 1st November 2019, all Singaporeans, regardless of income, will be eligible for CHAS.

Conditions covered under CHAS

Common medical conditions such as cough, cold, diarrhoea, headaches, fever are covered under the “Acute conditions”.

  • Epilepsy
  • Osteoporosis

  • Rheumatoid Arthritis
  • Ischaemic Heart Disease

How to apply for CHAS?

  • Apply for CHAS online here.
  • Pick up a CHAS form at any Public Hospital, Polyclinics, Community Centre/Club (CC) or Community Development Council (CDC).

How do I enjoy the CHAS subsidies?

CHAS will issue an individual CHAS card in their name to successful CHAS applicant.
Pioneer Generation and Merdeka Generation cardholders can use their Pioneer Generation or Merdeka Generation card at any CHAS clinic to obtain CHAS subsidies.

Simply present the card at a CHAS-participating when seeking treatment.

Points to note

First time visit: Please also present your NRIC upon registration (or birth certificate for cardholders under 15 years old).

How do I know if the clinic is CHAS accredited?

CHAS clinics will display the CHAS sticker at their entrances.

All clinics under Frontier Healthcare Group are CHAS accredited.
