Singapore’s National Childhood Immunisation Schedule (NCIS) recommends a series of childhood vaccinations for protection against important infectious diseases. The NCIS currently includes vaccinations against the following diseases:
Tuberculosis
Hepatitis B
Diphtheria
Tetanus
Pertussis
Poliovirus
Haemophilus influenzaetype b
Measles
Mumps
Rubella
Varicella
Pneumococcal disease
Influenza
Human papillomavirus
Of the above, vaccinations against measles and diptheria are compulsory for children under the Infectious Diseases Act.

6-in-1: Diphtheria/ pertussis /tetanus (DPT), polio, haemophilus influenzae type B (Hib), and Hepatitis B
MMR: Mumps, measles and rubella
HPV: Human papilloma virus
Rotavirus Vaccine
The rotavirus vaccine is currently not covered under the NCIS, but is an optional vaccine that can be given to infants to protect them against stomach flu.
The rotavirus vaccine is given by mouth, and requires 2 doses given at least 4 weeks apart. The first dose can be given from 6 weeks of age, and the second dose should be completed by 24 weeks of age.
